Specification and installation instructions for attachment eye

  • With captive, yet detachable hexagon head bolt that is 100% crack tested
  • Collapsible load ring, fully rotatable
  • Load ring must be configured against loads in the direction of force, must move freely and must not rest on edges
  • Only one tapped hole or clearance hole required, extremely small construction
  • Design the attachment point such that the introduced forces from the base material are absorbed without deformation
  • Screw-in material min. 1.0037 (St 37). For light metals, non-ferrous metals and grey cast iron, the thread assignment must be selected such that the thread load capacity meets the requirements for the respective base material
  • Ensure mounting surface is level; blind holes must be drilled deep enough so that the supporting surface can rest on top
  • If there is only one transport journey, it is sufficient to screw in and tighten by hand using an open-ended spanner
  • The attachment eye must be level without additional washers and lie fully on the mounting surface with a supporting surface (ØA)
  • If the attachment eye is to remain permanently on the load, it must be tightened by 30 Nm (+/- 10%)
  • It must be possible to rotate the screw bolt by 360° when tightened.
  • It may inadvertently loosen if there is transient stress, twisting or vibrations, particularly where there are straight couplings with nuts
  • Securing options: liquid thread securing agents such as Loctite
  • (Observe manufacturer’s guidelines) or a positive-locking screw lock such as a castellated nut with split pin, lock nut etc.
